What time of year???

Could it be Christmas!!!. What a crazy time of year it is. I have been busy finishing off swaps. I should be getting back my swap book from glam girls on Monday. Yay, cant wait. Then I have to organise and get my journal ready for the next round of circle that begins in January. But at least I have picked a theme. Express Yourself. Dont know how I'm going to do that yet but i'm sure I'll think of something. I have all my atc's for the November Scrapbook Oultet swap, and some raks and swaps fom other groups. Well as much as I would love to stay and spend ages putting photo's on here, the weather is just too nice. So I'll come back and do them this evening\

Finally... Here is my lovely Circle Journal

Well its been a while now since my baby has made it home. I still love looking at it though. I am still deciding just how to do the cover. Next time I do a journal I think i will do the cover first, its too hard to think of something when it comes home all lovely and beautiful. My theme was.. if you could go anywhere anytime where would it be.. (in otherwords your favourite era).

This is the sign in page where I had everyone make a tag that represents the era they's chosen.

This was Niella's gorgeous layout on the 1930's. Lots of lovely old style collage work. I love the mannequin/doll. The pic doesnt really do it justice.

Next is Rangi's wonderful layout on Ancient. I love the little tags that you pull out and have egyptian symbols, gold fibres and jewels. One of my fav era's too.

This is Kirstin's wonderful layout on the native americans. I have to admit it was not an era that I thought would pop up in my journal. But I am SOOOO glad it did. Thank you Kirstin. I love it and wonder why I hadnt thought of it. I love indian folklore, history paintings etc.

This is Zeetra's very funky and bright layout on the 70's and 80's. I just love the verses she has put on. I will copy them out and put them on a seperate post as they are just so funny. Love the bright fresh colours

This is Tracy's layout on the Victorian era (another of my fav era's). I love how she has used tissues (I think) to achieve the look. A very gorgeous page

This is Shell's layout on the 70's, when she was growing up. What a cute photo of that little girl in the paddling pool (I wonder who that could be lol). Love the multitudes of flowers.

And lastly my own layout. Being indecisive I could not choose one era so I picked ancient egypt and a victorian type era. I love the classic beauty of Vintage Victorian and the majesty, history, culture and art of ancient egypt. I would love to go to either time.

So there is my baby. I will post pics of the cover when it is completed (havent started yet as am very busy with swaps etc).
I am so lucky to have been a part of this circle journal as this was the first time I have done something like that. And I will treasure my wee book forever. A huge thank you to everyone that completed pages and also my great thanks for being able to work on your journals as well. It was a wonderful experience and I cant wait for the next one.

Lots of Fun

Well I have managed to do some creating. Still not managed to take the photo's of my circle journal. Hopefully will be able to get onto that tomorrow. Anyway here are some pics of what I have managed to make for the skinny book swaps for NZ Stampers.

This is a page that I made for Lynette. The theme she chose for her book was 'Under the Sea'. I had heaps of fun painting the ocean background. And then making the mermaid.

This is a special page that I have made whose theme was purple freiendship. The quote reads 'Without friends no one would choose to live. Though he had all other goods' Aristotle

This is another page I made for my own skinny book. It originally was going to be for the same person as above (so has the same purple friendhsip theme) but then I thought it looked a little cluttered and wasnt really happy with it so I am keeping it for myself. It uses the same friends quote stamp.
So a couple of things of my to do list. But there is still plenty more to keep me going though.

That seemed to work...

Well the picture is in there. So something must have gone right. Its been a very muggy day today but not cold. Just perfect for getting in the craft room. Especially since I have swap deadlines rapidly approaching lol.

Time seems to be going past at lightening speed. There definately isnt enough time in the day to do everything.

Well off for more creating. Must take pictures of my scrapbook outlet circle journal that came back so I can load everyones fantastic creations...

Beginings

Well...

Thought maybe it was about ime to start one of these. At the very least it will be a place to put pics of the things I am creating and keep track of them.

Besides I need something to distract me from the heat. Aahh we never seem to be happy do we. When it is cold we wish for heat, and then when it is hot we wish for cold. It wouldnt be so bad but I cant find my fan!!! So I'm wilting away (I put it away fr the winter and now I cant remember where and its too hot to do much investigating).

I've tried to do some creating, but it is mainly happening in the evenings because the sun is full on my craft room from noon on. Lovely on a normal day as there is plenty of light. But since it is not a particulary large room it can heat up very quickly. So I have also been busy moving things that could melt/be ruined by the direct sun/heat.

Well enough typing. I'm off to see if I can add some pics. Lets see if this works...

Hopefully there should be a pic here of a 'da vinci' themed card that I made for a Glamour Girl Stamps swap.
